Sugar Smart Greenwich August Update

View the new update on Sugar Smart Greenwich. Work has continued over the summer and new organisations have joined the campaign with their pledges and ambition to take action on sugar.

It’s Sugar Smart September next month and we are really excited about tempting new organisations to take part in the campaign by cutting out, reducing or swapping sugary drinks and snacks being eaten or sold.

If you are joining in, be sure to register your pledges on the Good Food in Greenwich Good Food in Greenwich website..

Good Food in Greenwich Network Meeting

We’re delighted to announce the next Good Food in Greenwich Network Meeting happening on the 18th September from 10 – 12 at IKEA in their beautiful roof top hall (ask any of their lovely staff for directions to the room).

We want to use this time to really find out what your vision for a Good Food Borough is and how we can achieve it together.  This will be the start of our Food Strategy so we need you there to get involved from the start; help shape our journey!

Last time we had over 45 people attend and some incredible connections and partnerships were made.

As always we’re throwing in a fantastic lunch so you can eat, chat and relax with other like-minded foodies.

We’d love to hear from you and see you there, so please do get in touch with for more information!

About Projects Uncategorised

The Superzones project would like your opinion

Having healthy spaces and neighbourhoods are vital to giving children the best start in life and reducing health inequalities. We know that being exposed to an unhealthy environment as a child can have a lasting impact on mental health, obesity, educational achievement and long-term conditions.

Greenwich is one of 13 London boroughs taking ground-breaking action to improve the environment in which our children and young people grow up, through a new project called ‘Superzones’. This is a zone around a school – around a 5-10 minute walk,– where the aim is to create healthier and safer places for London’s children and young people to live, learn and play.

As part of the Superzones development around Hawksmoor Primary School in Thamesmead there is some engagement work taking part in the area, in the form of a short online survey.

If you currently live, work, or volunteer in Thamesmead please share your thoughts on what makes it harder for children and families to lead a healthy lifestyle and how the Superzones should develop.

If you can spare five minutes please complete this short survey and let us know your views:
